Common questions about DTS.

What does a DTS involve?
The Discipleship Training School [DTS] is an intensive, Christian training course beginning with a 12 week Bible-based teaching phase followed by a typically 10 - 12 week practical outreach. The DTS is designed to encourage students in their personal character development, to cultivate their living relationship with God, and to identify their unique individual gifts and callings in God.

How do I get involved?
You can Phone/Email/Snail Mail us and we will be more than happy to assist you in any questions that you may have. Or you can apply online now.

Why do a DTS?
Christianity is all about transformation. Often we try to make minor adjustments in our life when really what we need is a 'heart transplant.' The DTS is a heavy-duty tool designed to bring heavy-duty intimacy with God and real Christian Living. Many people struggle to know God's future plan for them and use this time as a retreat from their familiar surroundings. With minimal distractions, they "go hard" after God and often for the first time they understand why God has made them and what their unique mission in life is.

Who should do a DTS?
Christians who are serious about following Christ and obeying His will for them.

What happens on a DTS?
Your world expands as you are challenged in the ways of God and putting them into practice! You, yes you, realize that you are part of the body of Christ sent out to take the World for Christ!

What nations do DTS students come from?
We get enquiries from all over the world. During the last few schools we have had students from Russia and also Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Finland, Uzbekistan, England, and more. A multicultural experience designed to give you an international World View.

What is the age range for a DTS?
Generally the ages of DTS students range from 17 to about 35.

Is the DTS full time?
Yes. This is a 24/7 deal.....just like how Jesus trained his disciples for maximum impact.... apprenticeship style for world changers.

Where will I live?
Our Base is situated in the city of Rostov-on-Don. Housing is dormitory-style, with 4 - 6 students to a room. It is community living with shared bathrooms and kitchen.

Are there opportunities to serve after the DTS?
Yes, many of the DTS graduates spend additional time learning and serving. Here in Rostov, we also offer two second-level schools: the School of Biblical Studies (a 9 month intensive Bible school) and the School of Frontier Missions. There are also many other opportunities to serve here on our base and in this part of the world.

What is Outreach?
Outreach is a time where you go to the "mission field" and put into practice what you have learned during the lecture phase. It is a fun, challenging, and immensely worthwhile part of the course. The main focus is evangelism, in many forms and forums. A time where you can get to see the Lord work in amazing ways, in, through and with you!

What happens on Outreach?
Depending on where you go, you will do street witnessing, friendship evangelism, serving in camps, orphanages and a wide variety of other ministry situations. You will meet new people from other cultures and interact with them first hand.

What are some of the Topics?
Here are a few of them: Father-heart of God, Character of God, Worship, Intercession, Spiritual Warfare, Missions, Evangelism, Christian World View, and more.

Is the training all classroom style?
During the lecture phase, a lot of time is spent in the classroom, but we also put a lot of focus on discussion and informal, relationship-style discipleship. Evangelism and outreach times help with a real 'hands on" learning experiance.

Am I guaranteed a position on Outreach?
No. However on most DTS's, 95% of the trainees are taken on outreach. A prerequisite for outreach is satisfactory completion of the lecture phase.
