The DTS Curriculum

Module 1: The Christian's Relationship to God: How to hear the voice of God. Developing a personal devotional life. Understanding the character and ways of God.
Module 2: The Christian's Relationship to Oneself and Others: Personal character development. Discovery and release of one's gifts and ministries. Stewardship. Principles for healthy relationships. Forgiveness.
Module 3: The Christian's Relationship to the Word: How to develop a consistent lifestyle of personal study. Meditation and the application of Biblical truth.
Module 4: The Christian's Relationship to the World: The 'lostness' of man. How to share one's faith. Evangelism and cross-cultural missions. Reaching the unreached. General awareness of world needs. Biblical worldview.
Module 5: The Christian's relationship to the Church: Commitment. Unity. Understanding the complementary roles of the local church and missions structures.
Module 6: The Christian's stand against the enemy: Resisting temptation. Prayer and Intercession. Spiritual Warfare.
Module 7: The Christian's Orientation to YWAM International: YWAM's threefold calling to Evangelism, Training, and Mercy Ministries. YWAM's foundational values and ministry opportunities.
Module 8: Field Assignment: Also known as 'outreach'- puts into practice the things learned in the lecture phase in an evangelistic setting.
The successful completion of the Discipleship Training School is a requirement for continuing on to second-level schools or staff positions within YWAM and the University of the Nations.
